Infinix Note Edge 5G
Infinix Note edge

2026 has started and Infinix is already here with a new smartphone. This is their first launch of the year, the Infinix Note Edge 5G. Now this one sits inside the Note series, but it’s not a Note 60. It’s something different. It’s called “Edge.” Clearly aimed at competing with all the slim, curved “Edge” phones in the market right now.

And honestly, at first glance, this phone looks interesting. Slim body. Big battery. Curved AMOLED. JBL branding. Let’s talk about everything properly.

Unboxing the Infinix Note Edge 5G

The box comes in green and black packaging. Inside you get:

  • The phone itself
  • SIM ejector tool
  • Documentation and stickers
  • Hard screen protector (for the curved display)
  • Wipes for applying the protector
  • A color-coordinated case
  • 45W fast charger
  • USB Type A to Type C cable

Good to see that Infinix is still giving a charger in the box. The hard screen protector is also a nice touch because curved displays can be tricky when it comes to protection.

Design: 7.2mm Slim with a Big Battery

The moment you hold it, the first thing you notice is how slim it feels. This phone is just 7.2mm thin, and surprisingly light at around 188 grams. That’s impressive considering it packs a 6500mAh battery inside.

The back has what Infinix calls a silk fabric finish. It feels smooth with a subtle shimmer. Not flashy, but definitely premium for this price segment. The phone is curved on the front and back, which gives it that premium in-hand feel. There’s Gorilla Glass protection on the front and an IP65 rating as well.

And yes, there’s something interesting, an extra button on the side. We’ll talk about that in a bit.

Ports and Buttons

Let’s quickly go around the phone.

Bottom:

  • Speaker grill
  • USB Type-C port
  • Microphone

Top:

  • Second speaker with JBL branding
  • IR blaster
  • Noise cancelling mic

Left side:

  • SIM tray

Right side:

  • Volume buttons
  • Power button
  • Dedicated AI key

That AI key can be customized with up to 30 different functions. You can assign flashlight, DND mode, assistant activation and more.

Display: 1.5K Curved AMOLED

This is one of the highlights.

You get a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with:

  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 3D curved edges
  • Up to 4500 nits peak brightness
  • 1600 nits HBM brightness

The bezels look very thin because of the curved design. Colors are vibrant, and you also get display profiles if you prefer natural tones instead of punchy ones. Refresh rate options include 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz. Overall, for ₹19,999, this display feels premium.

Performance: Dimensity 7100

The Infinix Note Edge 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor.

It comes with:

  • LPDDR5X RAM
  • UFS 2.2 storage

Variants:

  • 6GB + 128GB
  • 8GB + 128GB
  • 8GB + 256GB

AnTuTu scores are reportedly around 7.5 to 8 lakh. Gaming performance is solid for the price. BGMI runs at 60FPS out of the box, and Infinix says 90FPS support is coming soon via update. Thermals look stable. It’s not a flagship-level processor, but for everyday use and gaming in this price range, it performs well.

Battery & Charging

Now this is where things get interesting. You’re getting a 6500mAh battery in a 7.2mm phone.

Charging:

  • 45W fast charging
  • Around 50% in 27–28 minutes
  • Full charge in roughly 60–65 minutes
  • 10W reverse wired charging

For heavy users, this should easily last a full day and probably more.

Software: XOS 16 on Android 16

The phone runs XOS 16 based on Android 16. Infinix has improved their UI over the past couple of years. You now get:

  • 3 years of major Android updates
  • 5 years of security updates
  • Customizable lock screen
  • Icon shape changes
  • Depth effect wallpapers
  • Notification panel customization

There are some pre-installed apps, but most of them can be removed. The dedicated AI key can activate FOLAX assistant and other quick actions.

Multimedia Experience

The phone has JBL-tuned stereo speakers. Audio is loud and clear. The curved AMOLED display combined with stereo sound makes it great for watching videos and streaming content. You also get Widevine L1 support, so HD streaming works fine.

Camera Setup

Rear:

  • 50MP primary sensor
  • 2MP secondary sensor

Front:

  • 13MP selfie camera

In daylight, photos have good skin tones and decent colors. HDR is a bit inconsistent at times. Low-light performance is average.

Video recording supports:

  • 2K at 30FPS
  • Multiple modes like Vlog, AI Portrait, Night, Dual Video, Slow Motion, Time Lapse and more

For the price, camera performance is decent but not class-leading.

Extra Features

  • IP65 rating
  • NFC
  • IR Blaster
  • Bluetooth 5.4
  • Dual-band WiFi
  • RGB notification light on the back
  • Optical fingerprint sensor (slightly low placement but works fine)

The RGB light works as a customizable notification indicator, which is something you don’t see much these days.

Final Thoughts

The Infinix Note Edge 5G focuses on three main things- Slim premium design, Big 6500mAh battery, Strong 1.5K curved AMOLED display. At ₹19,999, it’s clearly targeting users who want a stylish phone with long battery life and a good multimedia experience.

If camera is your top priority, you might want to compare options. But if you want design + battery + display, this one is definitely worth checking out.
